Mount Kinabalu (Gunung Kinabalu) is the crown jewel of Borneo, soaring 4,095.2 metres (13,435 ft) into the sky. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Kinabalu Park is a global center of plant diversity containing over 5,000 vascular plant species, carnivorous pitcher plants, and rare orchids. 2-hour drive or shared minibus from Kota Kinabalu city center along the scenic Tamparuli-Ranau Highway.
Accessibility & Facilities
Botanical garden boardwalks at park headquarters are accessible. Summit climb requires good cardiovascular fitness.
