Standing 32.3 metres (106 ft) tall at Tanjung Kubong on the northern tip of Labuan, The Chimney is an enigmatic red-brick tower constructed from over 23,000 British-imported bricks. Built in the late 19th century during Labuan's coal-mining heyday, its exact purpose remains an intriguing mystery with no traces of smoke residue found inside. The adjacent museum chronicles Labuan's 1847–1911 coal-mining heritage.
