Gunung Jerai (Mount Jerai) rises dramatically above Kedah's emerald paddy plains. Historically served as a maritime beacon for ancient spice route navigators. At its foothills lies Bujang Valley (Lembah Bujang), the oldest archaeological site in Southeast Asia dating back over 2,000 years, with ancient candi (temple) shrines and iron-smelting ruins.
How to Get There
45-minute drive south from Alor Setar or 1-hour drive north from Penang via the PLUS highway (Gurun exit).
