Batu Caves is one of Malaysia's most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites, dedicated to Lord Murugan. Visitors are greeted by the colossal 42.7-metre gold-painted statue and a vibrant 272-step staircase leading up into the cathedral-like Temple Cave (Cathedral Cave). The site is the focal epicentre of the annual Thaipusam festival, drawing over one million devotees and international visitors.
How to Get There
Take the KTM Komuter train directly from KL Sentral station to Batu Caves Station (KC05).
Accessibility & Facilities
The main cave requires climbing 272 steps. Ground-level temples are step-free.
