Overview & Visitor Experience
Established in 1957, Bako National Park is Sarawak's oldest and most bio-diverse national park. Packing almost every type of Bornean vegetation into 27 square kilometres, it is the best place in Malaysia to spot wild endangered Proboscis monkeys with their distinctive bulbous noses. Hike through pristine coastal rainforest trails, visit hidden beaches at Telok Pandan, and marvel at the iconic Sea Stack rock sculpture.
How to Get There
Take Bus No. 1 or taxi from Kuching to Kampung Bako (45 mins), then take a 20-minute scenic longboat to park headquarters.

Boarding and landing boats directly on the beach; requires wading in ankle-deep water at low tide.
